Teaching Philosophy
As an educator I strive to learn, laugh and grow with my students throughout the year. My role as an elementary educator is to provide each and every one of my students with great learning opportunity to help them as they continue to grow and learn as individuals.
I believe that setting a classroom community and welcoming feeling can provide students with the best learning atmosphere. Providing a safe place for all students to explore and grow throughout their educational experience can set them up for success in the future.
Managing a classroom is key. If you cannot control or manage your students no learning or teaching can occur. There are many different strategies for managing a classroom. Some of my strategies include creating a classroom social contract for the students to follow and setting expectations for different types instructions within the classroom. It is important to collaborate with students when setting these responsibilities so that they feel it is a good learning environment for them and can help them feel involved with setting the expectations.
Through my personal experience within the field, I believe that creating connections with students and their families can create a positive impact for everyone involved. Having this open communication and understanding will help the student to better succeed and continue to grow in and outside of school.
In order to reach the diverse needs of my students through creating books that include individuals that all my students can relate to so they can “see themselves” in the books that we read and work with in the classroom. As well as, relate lessons to certain cultures or celebrations to help everyone feel welcomed and included.
Having the opportunity to work with students each and everyday and provide them with an educational experience to help these students to learn, grow and become the future of our country is something that I am grateful for. I look forward to continuing to follow my passion for teaching and making a lasting impact on children's lives.
